Spanish/Portuguese Bid Edges Ahead For 2018

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

If you’re banking on a summer of international football a stones-throw from your home come 2018, you may be better off moving your home (or building a bigger catapult) if discarded paper scraps circulating amongst Fifa’s executives are to be believed.

It could be Portuguese mortgages for the Football faithful, so long as a note said to have been written by Spanish executive Angel Villa Llona to Mohamaed Bin Hammam (representative for Qatar) is genuine. Llona passed a note saying ‘vamos a ganar’ (we are going to win) to the Qatari member. It’s the latest in a line of Spainish / Qatari conspiracies that indicate the two countries are colluding on bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Spain’s join bid with Portugal will benefit from Qatar’s votes, and vice versa.. Fifa however, is turning a blind eye on this blatant conspiracy between the nations.

The English bid has been losing popularity and credibility in recent weeks, whilst the Portuguese / Spanish bid gains in popularity alongside the rival Russian bid. The English bid has been particularly harmed by newspaper investigations into the Nigerian and Tahitian members. These Fifa members were filmed selling their World Cup bidding votes to a fictionalised American representative.

Attempting to heal the supposed rift, David Cameron has been lobbying other world leaders at the G20 summit in Seoul. Mr Cameron intends to fly out to Zurich to speak with Fifa leaders. Time will be tight ahead of the December 2nd vote that will decide hosting for both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Having already secured the 2012 Olympics, the United Kingdom sees hosting the World Cup as particularly appealing as it will be able to double up on the development of certain facilities.

Portugal’s partnership with Spain (which last hosted the World Cup in 1982), gives a freshness to the bid. As reigning World Champions, the Spanish are doubly popular for selection as future World Cup hosts. With the World Cup looking increasingly likely for Southern Europe, it’s no surprise that many English people are sighing and looking into the strange world of Mortgages for property in Portugal.

Is Soccer Coming Residence

football betting tips

The English football crew have managed to reach the quarter finals of the Fifa World Cup, will this finally be the year that football comes back dwelling for the first time since 1966? Regardless of not taking part in their best soccer, England are still in the match and should have a fantastic probability of lifting the trophy.

Some might say that I am biased as I am from England myself and am an avid England supporter, nonetheless I really feel that 2006 might be the 12 months for our boys on the market in Germany. This will in fact be all blown away on Saturday when the crew face Portugal and massive Phil Scolari. Scolari has been the supervisor of the last groups who have knocked England out of the last major tournaments and subsequently will pose a giant threat to my team. He was the manager of the Brazil staff that beat England within the 2002 World Cup and he was and nonetheless is the manager of the Portugal group that beat England within the 2004 European Championship. I hope that it will likely be third time fortunate for the English this year.

To say that England are but to peak is a bit of an understatement as they’ve in fact been properly under par. This could nevertheless be quite a great factor, how many occasions have Germany scraped through to the final phases of the event without thrilling the crowds?

With Wayne Rooney turning into stronger and fitter this has to be the perfect opportunity that England has had for fairly some time. There are various leaders and potential captains in the English team. Players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard would all make worthy captains when David Beckham decides to surrender this role. As well as potential captains, these gamers are additionally what I name winners and when push comes to shove hopefully will deliver the goods.

Argentina, Brazil and Germany could show to be the most important dangers to England. After a sluggish begin Ronaldo seems to have found his scoring boots once more and the Brazil team has some nice gamers everywhere in the park. I’ve to say that I am getting fairly bored of them winning nevertheless, certainly its the flip of England this time around.

Germany have played some nice football on their house turf and seem to increase a head of steam. They might show fairly troublesome to stop and always appear to do properly within the World Cup.

Many individuals would argue that Argentina have most likely performed the very best soccer to this point and that they’re worthy favourites. I would have to agree with this and just hope that they have peaked too soon.

It certainly could be a fantastic summer in England if our team can carry soccer dwelling to the place it belongs this year. Good luck England.

Where Italy Will Look For The Next World Cup

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Marcelo Lippi’s current Italian squad has been criticised by several soccer pundits as being too old.  The Italian team is undoubtedly old, with 30-year old Vincenzo Iaquinta, 31 year-old Andrea Pirlo, 32 year olds Gianluigi Buffon, Gennaro Guttuso, and Antonio Di Natale, 33 year-olds Mauro Camoranesi and Gianluca Zambrotta, and 36-year old Fabio Cannavaro all likely to have to be replaced by Lippi or Azzuri’s next manager by the Brazilian World Cup in 2014.

Lorenzo De Silvestri    Defender     (Fiorentina)    Aged 22
The former Lazio full back cuts an imposing figure for a full back at just over six feet tall.  After a 2009 move to Fiorentina, De Silvestri has exemplified the form that set him apart whilst playing for Italy’s U16 and U21 teams. A marauding, powerful full back, he gets forward well and looks to be a possible long term replacement for Gianluca Zambrotta in the national team.

Davide Santon        Defender    (Inter)        Aged 19
Santon, who played for Inter in 28 games and Azzuri in five, has set himself apart as an excellent defender with an ability to play either flank with ease. The tireless Santon can run the flanks for the entire ninety minutes and has even been compared to Paolo Maldini by coach Marcelo Lippi. Thanks to his sound technical skills, and omitting the risk of injury, Santon should be joining the next few major finals Italian squads.

Mario Balotelli        (Striker)    (Inter)        Aged 19
Although Mario Balotelli can be quick to anger and temperamental, his skill as an attack and winger has given Italy hope for a strong squad when he starts wearing the Italy national soccer jersey.  Batelli’s run-ins with both fans and management only serve to distract from his excellent record: the player scored twenty goals in 59 games and notched 6 and 16 for the U21 Italian set. Batelli is sure to see the Euro 2012 qualifiers, when the Italian team will be looking for a new strike force.

Federico Macheda    (Striker)    (Man Utd)    Aged 18
A fiercely underrated player that has yet to regularly make the first team at Old Trafford, Macheda is set to have a great next season and catch they eye of Azzuri management. Macheda’s strength as a striker coupled with his intelligence gives him a boost in scoring goals. His particular talent is scoring with his back to the goal, and he has been capped at U21 for Italy; if Macheda makes a difference in the first team for United, he should end up with a spot on the Italian national squad.

Antonio Candreva    (Midfielder)    Udinese    Aged 23
Finding a replacement for Andrea Pirlo may be the Italian sides greatest challenge in the next few years and one possible replacement could be Candreva. Pundits speculate that the Udinese midfielder will make his loan to Juventus a more permanent situation, especially since his abilities to play the entire midfield and master the perfection of Pirlo’s holding, creative role have been urging a permanent position.
